Sunday's message was awesome, Pastor Jay did it again! He challenged us to be Presence led, to learn the rewards of a consecrated life, to MOVE in Faith, and to leave a memorial for future generations.
He taught out of Joshua 3. If you missed it go here and watch it, them come back and read the rest;) http://www.therefuge.net/media/
You can't have a promise land experience without a Jordan river experience first.
I believe the Lord has new ground for you to take, for many its right in front of you! But there is a Jordan river in front of you and you can't get through it. God never called you or commanded you to cross the Jordan river in your life on your own. We have to submit and surrender to God. We have to be Presence led. Pastor shared about this, and that logic, politically correctness, reason, convenience all come into play when we are NOT Presence lead.
How many times have we all made moves and decisions without considering the Lord, we all have before. Its time for those days to come to an end in your life. Most of the time when we face Jordan's we call friends and ask what we should do and take advice from people many who are not even connected to the Lord or basing their advice on logic, reason, convenience etc. In the World's lens this is ok and good. But these people are NOT calling upon the Lord who has the ability to carry us into the promise that is right in front of us. And can do more than we can even imagine! Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, Dr. Drew, Pastor Oprah, and Grey's do NOT hold the anwsers!
If we aren't fit to cross the Jordan we aren't fit to gain the promise. How do we cross the Jordan? We can't, not in our own strength. Once you understand that you have no power and your very weak then you submit and surrender to the Lord and once you do that He will carry you! That's the good news, but we have to rely on Him completely. Its not easy and it takes a lot of Faith but Faith is what its all about. You can do it! God is calling us to live a consecrated life
Consecrate means: To dedicate solemnly to a service or goal.
How committed are you to Jesus? Do you love him with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength?
Do you follow him or are you just very fond of him?
I hope you will ask yourself these questions and be honest. All it takes is one decision to turn it all to Jesus. Once you make that decision you keep making it every minute of everyday. That's what the Lord has called us to. Thats why he died on the Cross and rose on the 3rd!
Did you know that most Christians only attend Church one time every 6 weeks nationwide?
Jesus did die so you and me can party with the World and show up to His party every once and a while to get some goose bumps and feel better about our junk.
Its time we as the Church Blow the trumpet in Zion.
We have to MOVE in Faith this requires ACTION. Walk by Faith not by sight in confidence. We have to live by Faith everyday. This will get us through the Jordan, and take us to new land that has been promised to us! Do you wanna go there?
I love how Pastor Jay shared that How we go through the Jordan experience will determine how the next Generation views God. This has been so true for my life. I have a great family who love God and have showed me the way my whole life. My grandfather James Franklin Lunsford was dying of cancer when I was born. My whole life I have heard the stories of his great Faith and desire to stay alive not only to see me but to pray over me and my future. I was dedicated at like 2 weeks old and when the Pastor was praying over me and dedicating me my Grandfather's eyes were never closed, his eyes were open and on me as he prayed for me and my life. That was his last Sunday in Church. Those prayers he prayed have rested over me my whole life and I have felt them. It is the memorials my family and people of God in my life have built that kept my eyes on Jesus through years of struggle in my Childhood and teen years. I stayed with my grandparents in SC every summer growing up, they served me and loved me with everything they had, they left a memorial in my heart forever! I will always have those memorials engraved in my heart. What we do and how we handle our Jordan is not all about us, but the Generations ahead. Your life is so important! Live by Faith, be Presence led, Consecrate your life, leave a memorial that will change the World for future Generations, they need us.
I'm so excited about part 3 of this awesome series. Invite 5 people to Church this Sunday you know need to MOVE towards Jesus.
