Dare you to MOVE pt.1

Every middle school kid in the world has been faced with the challenge " I dare you!" and if things got really serious and that kid was still reluctant about doing whatever it is they are being challenged to do usually they would hear the phrase "I double dare you!" Now they have a decision to make, because if you walk away from a "double dare" you could risk being known as a "big fat chicken" forever. If they still haven't done the "dare" they would probably hear the chant "Dooo it, doo it, doo it, dooo it" and "I triple dog dare you!" Now there's no turning back. If you pass up a "triple dog dare" you won't have any friends anymore so you better just do whatever it is your being dared to do. Ever been there before? We have all been middle schoolers! Note: I think it should be illegal for middle school kids to stand at a bus stop alone in a group. The things that can happen....Wow.

This past Sunday Pastor Jay brought one of the most timely and challenging messages I have ever heard. "Dare you to move" is a series that we started last weekend at The Refuge. AND WATCH IT! Pastor Jay taught out of Joshua 1 and gave 6 principals we should apply for 2011. This message is a must see for You and I. We have an opportunity in this new year to MOVE from the things of the past, our comforts and the ways we have always done things and MOVE forward!

In 1983, Steve Jobs lured John Sculley away from Pepsi-Cola to serve as Apple's CEO, asking, "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?"

What a statement from a man who has truly changed the World and how we do things. John Sculley was "Dared" to walk away from his current career and promise to MOVE and take a step of Faith to a new opportunity to not just sell "Sugar water to kids" but change the World. And these guys did just that.

After seeing this message you may have came to a place where you said:

I want to move forward, I want to leave the past behind, I need to really commit my life to Christ in 2011, I need to step out of Religion, I need to overcome fear, discouragement, I need to stop going through the motions and start living out the things God has dreamed for me.

And you were "Dared" to MOVE. You may have just watched this message on our site. If so, I triple dog dare YOU to MOVE! Just do it! Pastor's message was more than a message it was a call to change the way we are living and step fully into God's purpose for our lives. And if you sat in Church and any of the above statements went through your head and your not doing it today I want to challenge you now to MOVE! take a step of Faith, Just do it, I dare you! Pastor Jay dares you, and you will not be alone because there is an army raising up of people who are tired of the regular ol' religous thing. We have jobs to do and they are building the Kingdom! And God has a job for you that you can do, the question is: Will You?
