Road Rage!
Today, I'm driving up 29 on the way for a meeting at Starbucks and I see a 16 year old girl pull out and bump up against the side of another lady's car (She barely touched it and when it happened they were side by side) At this point im stuck at that never ending light to turn left just watching. So I sit and watch as they pull over. I see this young women around 30 get out of her car and start laying into this what looked like to be a 16 year old girl. So I do what any normal guy would do, I roll down my window. This women is yelling, pointing and pacing around this girls car. The young girl is sitting in her car and within seconds crying like crazy calling what probably was a parent. And I'm like "Really?" I could see a small mark on the side of the women's car. And I asked myself "Is it really that big of a deal?" Why do we get so mad!? Some people have terrible road rage and we think because we are driving down the road with strangers who we will never meet that its ok to yell, scream, honk, cut off, tailgate or heaven forbid make obscene gestures, (I know you would never do that!) Now I don't know who this women was or where she is with the Lord but I was reminded that in traffic, driving down 85 or in an accident we have a commandment to love our neighbor as our self. So all you people who use Road Rage to "let out your stress" remember that you represent Christ EVERYWHERE you are! Lets LOVE the world and our neighbors like Jesus.

I love your idea behind this blog!! The statement you wrote, "we think because we are driving down the road with strangers who we will never meet that its ok to yell, scream, honk, cut off, tailgate or heaven forbid make obscene gestures." We are all on the road of life, those on the straight and narrow need to make sure we are not getting detoured by our emotions and humanity by reacting with "Road Rage" to those around us.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Great stuff, I will definitely remember this blog the next time I have a little "road rage" on my journey! Thanks!
