Taking down Strongholds

Pastor's message last Sunday was on point! We are in our series "Dare you to move" this was our 3rd week. We have been dared to MOVE in so many ways, I'm so thankful for biblical teaching that is for real, in your face, controversial, MOVING, exciting, humbling, life changing, and anointed, because that's what the Bible IS! Right?... YES!

Sunday, Pastor Jay taught out of Joshua 6 where Joshua meets the leader of God's army who is Jesus holding a sword - Can you imagine? Forget that long haired, hippy looking, flower loving, soft, picture of Jesus with his baby lamb that we have all seen hung up in our grandma's house. Jesus the Army general, with his sword drawn and in the air ready to conquor is my Jesus! He gave Joshua instructions or the strategy on how to take the city of Jericho. The instructions were to march around the city for 6 days silent. On the 7th day they marched some more then when the trumpet sounded Joshua told the people to shout and when they did the walls of the city collapsed.

There is so much to talk about in this passage of scripture. If you missed the message go to TheRefuge.net and watch it!

This strategy that Jesus gave Joshua was out of the box to say the least. I would put it in the same category as God telling Noah to build a huge ark because he is going to flood the earth when its never rained before ever. It took total faith and humility to walk this out. God is not in the business of doing the same thing over and over again, but we are. When we face a stronghold or any given situation, many times we try to remember how we or somebody else has gone through it before, because that's safe, and makes more sense to us. If your trying to make sense of what Jesus is instructing you to do then your NOT walking in obediance. Jesus does not ask us to listen then figure it out. He calls us to listen and trust him! And as Pastor Jay said "With His strategy we can't do it in our own strength" Notice that Joshua did every single thing that Jesus instructed him to do, which lead to him taking down the stronghold and walking in the promise.

Listen to God, do what He says.

Its that simple.

You will take down your Stronghold!

I'm so pumped about this Sunday's service. God is going to move in such a powerful way and change people's lives forever. Invite as many people as you can to Church this Sunday! We have had people get saved in every service, with the exception of one, this year at The Refuge!

New series starting next week titled "Hypocrites" Its going to be epic! More to come on that later.
